Does anybody know of anyone who makes decals of venetian blinds for installation in HO passenger cars? (like the kind that come in the expense painted brass models)
If not, any ideas for making a reasonable fascimile?

Just an idea, I’ve never tried this before, but I would think if you have a 35mm camera, you could load a roll of slide film and aim the camera at an actual set of venitian blinds. You would have to experiment with the distance and composition, but once you get good results, BINGO! Transparent window glazing that has the blinds too! You could even pose people/items to duplicate say, a dining car. Once again, just an idea.

Another thought would be model louvers, or the kind of vent seen on mechanical reefers. Those somewhat resemble venitian blinds. Suydam used to make a wood louver. Rubbing paper or foil on clapboard siding might also produce plausible blinds
the key thing is, when you are outside looking in it is surprising how little detail you can see inside a prototype passenger car, even one which is lit. In an ironic sense most passenger car interiors are “too detailed”!

years ago Walthers sold paper printed blinds
Nothing 3D but pretty plausible to look at.
For all I know it is still in the catalog
