can a veranda turbine new model be made to run with marklin 3 rail .any ideas.the thing about marklin is that they only make about 6 U.S. locos and i need 3.the manul saids conpativel with other but 3 rail.thanks for any suport pat.h. n cece
You might be able to rig the locomotive to run on 3-rail if you take every other wheel and reverse their position in the truck to bypass the 2-rail insulation. Pick up shoes could mounted on the bottom of the trucks with spring loaded screws. To run the motor and decoder, you would have to route all of the track electricity through a bridge diode circuit since Marklin 3-rail is AC, not DC. This will likely prevent you from using the Marklin DCC since the AC operating current precludes compatability with the NMRA DCC standards, which is based on a DC operating current.
