Here is my problem I am very new to all of this. Needed a fun hobby and have always loved trains. As of right now I only have a very small space an L shape aprox. 5’ X 6’ and I am trying to design a layout that I can expand on later but still be functional and fun to use for the time being.
Sounds like a good space for N scale… you could do quite a lot!

An N-scale shelf switcher sounds perfect for your space. You could put a stub ended yard on one leg of the L and a few industries on the other. Then you could assemble a local in the yard and delivber cars to the industries. Could you post a diagram of your space?
Thanks for the replies. I am currently using n scale tdue to the fact I only have very little space and it makes it easier to use but can be expanded into a bigger layout without any issues. I think I have some up with an idea for now thanks for the help though. Any more tips or tricks you could share would be appreciated
