Very unusual sighting

This afternoon at about 1 p.m. my bride and I had returned from a short trip to St. Louis on business and were leaving the parking garage at Midway Airport in Chicago and were stopped at a traffic light near the terminal and had sight of hte (I believe I am right here) IHB main line crossing Cicero Ave. and I was watching a freight crossing over Cicero. Just before the light changed, the rear end of the freight crossed Cicero and there was a unusual double decker passenger car as last car on the train! This car was painted a grey color with some very bright striping of a sort but I could not read the small lettering on the car itself. It sure looked like an old Canadian GO Transit car repainted. I say this because it had the tapered roof ends like the GO Transit cars had. Anybody have any ideas what I might have stumbled upon?

It may have been an old amtrak car carrier you know when amtrak carried cars on most of thier trains and maybe this RR bought some of them

The car is headed to New Mexico for the new Commuter service thats starting in the fall, its part of the “Roadrunner Commuter Service” that is to operate between Santa Fe and Belen.

My vote would go to it being for the new commuter line in New Mexico as well although I wouldn’t rule out it being something else having not seen it.

I believe that I saw the same thing. I work at O’Hare on the cargo side and right off of Irving Park Road I saw a couple of double-deck cars in the Bensonville Yard. On Thursday, there was only one,now today there are two with a boxcar in between…

Cway

They have been bought by the LSRM for 50 bucks, all we have to pay is to ship them to Duluth…

BNSFKLINE, I wouldnt be to sure, it may have been one of ours as well.
