Hello!
Did VIA Rail ever have FP7’s?
I know they had FP9’s, but I couldn’t find any information on VIA having FP7’s.
If they do, where are the photos???

Acording to Louis A. Marre’s “Diesel Locomotives: The First Fifty Years” there were 57 FP7’s built for Canadian railroads. Only 54 FP9’s were built for Canadian railroads. This certainly puts them in the realm of having possibly accuired some FP7’s. The 9’s were only built for 6 years longer after production switched from 7’s to 9’s. Here is a link to another forum where the member states he remembers VIA with FP7’s and FP9’s in 1979. http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/showthread.php?t=68447
VIA got FP7a’s from the Canadian Pacific Railway when CP gave up passenger trains.
