VIA Rail considering more security measures

Sounds wise to me BUT I hope that they DONOT get as picky as Amtrak regarding railroad photography.
I sort of suspect that the cost of these “security” measures will hasten the demise of the few remnants of intercity passenger rail in Canada unless, as seems unlikely, some other agency of the government will pay the expenses.
As stated=checked bags for passengers only=after leaving station, whats to keep someone who has checked his baggage to depart train at next station stop, leaving his bag checked though to destination…regardless of what measures are taken, some can and have figured out ways to bypass them. History is full of people with out-of-focus minds…You can do all sorts of things until that one out-of-focus minds starts to think…
