Yeah,There was one in Arlington,Tx near Ranger stadium…It burned or went out of bzns,I cant remeber…I liked it…Danny
There’s at least one still operating, in Salem, Mass. Their website is
http://www.victoriastationinc.com.
A book about the rise and fall of the chain came out this year, entitled “Prime Rib and Boxcars: Whatever Happened to Victoria Station?” available at http://www.vicsta.com.
Believe it or not there’s one in Belgrade. The one in Serbia that is.
The one here that was in Universal Studios had British passenger cars. OK restaurant even if it was a bit before my adult times…
There was one in Memphis,Tn., out in the East Memphis area, used a couple of freight cars, a caboose and an old heavyweight passenger coach, it lasted a number of years and then was broken up to put in a carlot. One of the boxcars used was an old wagon top car with a set of doors so it could be loaded from one end, I think that’s the way I remember it.
Yes,
The one in Northeast Philadelphia, PA. has been replaced by a medical office building. However, the Delaware Valley seems to be extremely hard on restaurant chains. A lot have come and gone over the years.
The one nearest us was built with old SSW double-sheathed box cars and one ex-Southern Bay-window caboose, to which they added a cupola! It arrived after we did, and is long gone. We ate there once; didn’t like the food or the prices.
I believe CShaveRR is refering to the one that was in Villa Park, IL. When it first opened and people were lined up outside the door the prime rib was really good, later the quality went downhill and the prices went up. They tore it down and it’s now a Guitar Center.
One of our favorite places for prime rib was El Rancho in Colorado but haven’t been there in years and I thought I read something about it burning down or getting turned into a strip mall??
I remember that one… I remember they had the train schedule board hanging over the bar. We use to go there some week nights, because back then it was a decent place for production people to hang out after work. After they built the city walk, it was too busy and touristy.

Yes, when their buisness slowed down, Victoria Station changed its name to Victoria’s Secret and changed its line of busines from food to clothing. (laugh) Larry
