I decided to try my hand at video to accompany my still shots taken from some mountaintop overlooks above CSX along the Riverline at Bear Mountain, NY.
With recent cold and snowy weather, I hadn’t done one of my mountaintop hikes in over a month, so I was chomping at the bit to get some fresh air and exercise.
Mother Nature offered a reprieve with somewhat milder temps on Sunday, so I donned some warm clothes and boots and headed to the top of Dunderberg Mountain, just South of Iona Island, NY and took a tripod up along with me.
When I arrived up top roughly 45 minutes from the start, I found about 4 inches of snow that I had to wade through to safely set up my tripod and camera on a steep slope…I videoed 6 out of 8 trains seen that day.
A Southbound CSX Q439 exits the Fort ontgomery Tunnel and rolls across Iona Island on a crisp day.
