Very nicely done. One trivial detail, when the F-unit appears in the scene the “Mars” light should not be on. I was used only in certain specific situations on the UP.
If we’re going to pick nits, how about a “pavement ends” sign behind the yellow truck (where the pavement ends.) How trivial is that?
An extremely effective aspect of this scene is the use of muted color in a narrow palette for the backdrop, background flats, and surrounding structures. These structures, framing elements on the edges of the scene (like the derelict Shay), and the positioning of the roundhouse provide a form of theatrical scenic staging that helpfully focus attention on the turntable and lead tracks.
AWESOME!!! NICE JOB! Looks GREAT
Excellent!
That is spectacular I was inspired to get my turn table going. Thanks so very much. AWSOME.
Well, please tell, what certain specific situations? We can all learn here.
Very nicely presented. Gives me ideas for my layout as it is only in its infancy and growing.
…I was used only in certain specific situations on the UP…
OK, what situations? Explain, please?
fantastic use of every inch of space, nicely done bravo
Terminal with 130’ turntable in 2x5’… ? That’s impressive design. Hope there’s a track plan included for others to emulate. I could find 2x5’ for a terminal…
Excellent engine terminal. Very authentic looking.
Very Cool.
Could of used a wide shot to SEE the 2x5’ area.
I have contemplated doing an engine terminal for a few years. After seeing this, I have to get going. Very Nice!
I guess the sound of the steam whistle has nor been develop yet. I also find the action in the video very jerky or unreal having been done professionaly, Maybe it’s my computer system is lacking ?
The thought that must be given to put something “big” into a small space so often results in a superior model. This terminal scene is a gem and is more realistic than those often found on large layouts with lots of space. Model railroading is the thinking man’s hobby with the design work and the developing of train operations. And, the sound systems help too.
Great video, I wish I would be that far. I particularly like the way the background provides believable depth of scenary. What is the source of this background motive?
Very nicely done. Any chance a video will be made which shows how the unit is raised and lowered?
