The sound for the coupling/uncoupling should be louder with the sound resinating as if multiple cars moved when you back into it. I know when I am railfanning, when engines back into loaded cars, the sound is very audible.

Nice!!

Sound was very good but does it have good low speed capability. It seemed that the engineer was going a little fast on coupling and pulling out. Sorry, but most of us are spoiled and enjoy mimicking prototype operation.

The loco moves before the engine rpms increase. Also the bell seems too loud. Quite unrealistic.

The sound is nothing like an actual GP40. Doesn’t seem to have any turbocharger whine. Sounds more like a GP38 to me. Also, the horn sound is not correct for a Cannadian National unit. From what I’ve seen so far of sound-equipped diesels, the whole illusion of realism seems to vanish as soon as the sound comes on.

I’m primarily a “G”-scaler and run Phoenix sound in all my engines. This engine used in the demo sounds just as good as what I run in “G”.Having sound and DCC control is the best way to enjoy your hobby, be it large or smaller layouts.I have a small “HO” layout and I have a lot to learn about before I can make knowledgable statements regarding “HO”. I am looking forward to becoming more informed through practice.

the engine sound is highly reminiscent ofGP-40’s I recall but it appears the revving starts after the loco starts moving. real life would indicate teh revving occurs before moving. Can this be adjusted in teh programming?

Nice looking engine with great sounds. Please note engine speed is in RPM, not RPMS. Revolutions per minute! Old Navy submariners would call that turns per minute. Say again RPM, RPM, not RPMS

nice

The heavy load feature is so often missing as too many decoders always sonically portray the loco at a constant (too low) rpm. Nice unit.

Looks Awesome…

Great sound effects!! Makes me want to switch to DCC tomorrow; if only I could find that winning Lotto ticket;)

Another fine Atlas Loco for under the Christmas tree!

Great demo. I agree either the sound of the bell is a little loud or the clanking of the coupler crash is too soft. Yes, the ditch lights did go on in the beginning when the engine started its forward motion.

They keep getting better and better. Did I see a ditch light come on in the beginning???

Good to see and hear the locomotive move from a standing position–with appropriate bell and horn signalling–up through increasing speed levels. Also good to follow the unit through its paces in coupling and uncoupling, and pulling away from a standing start to speed. No music or voice-over to distract from the demonstation of sound: good!

Makes me want to be inside that cab.

Good or mabey great loco./sound

Vary cool nice loc.
