Nice video. Good looking locomotive, but you could barely here the horn in the video

Is it just me or do all diesel sound systems sound more like static on an old radio than a big diesel engine? I get no sense of big machines at work, just a constant grinding sound. And like Joseph, horn was barely there. I really want to add sound to my layout, but so far I’m not hearing it.

Dana,
A couple of things. First, like Joseph Schandua said, you can hardly hear the horn. You might want to try tweaking the volume up a bit more. The horn, like the bell, is there to warn people about the approaching train.
Second, you might want to practice more on making joints. The two I saw in this video would have the claims inspectors tearing their hair out, they were that bad. Ease into the joint, stopping about the time the pin falls, not two car lengths beyond.

Good paint job, The sound lacks depth, I had cranked up the sound on my computer and still only was able to hear the horn, the bell and the engine sounds, Other wise I felt this is model of the modern engine many would enjoy having run on their own layouts. Perhaps Atlas will listen to these and other comments and upgrade the sound system.

The unique feature of a Genset is the three separate motor/generator modules, where the second and third engines kick in when the load increases - more cars or more speed. The Tsunami has this feature, but the video did not demonstrate this phenomenon. All movement was at slow speed with only one engine set operating. Too bad.

Might want to add a second speaker in series and boost up the horn volume.

the horn signals you were doing weren’t correct. The last blast should be held until the engine occupies the crossing. Otherwise, the sound is great!!!
