Excellent running, good detail, and good price. Bachmann current selections of steam engines are right on time for those of us who still remember steam. This is a welcome addition to the “smaller” stable of Iron Horses. Goint to purchase a second one.
Liked the extended run in the video, AND, the action of setting out a box car. Great job.

Nothing better than Steam, probably will be my next purchase!!

Bought one allready and really like it. I run it with an MRC Sound Controller on my DC layout.

The sound was fantastic.

just received it. It is super and considering the price, outstanding!

The clip strarting at 2:00 made me want to sing the petticoat junction theme song (haha). This loco looks cooool.

This loco has no boiler bands, could someone on the MR staff come up with a quick fix? Strips of cartridge paper maybe?

I saw the Bachmann add and liked the idea of a small loco
for a small HO layout. Your excellent video and sound has now
shown me this is a great engine and value for what I need.
Thank you, and thank you Bachmann for helping out the little
guys in this hobby who have a limited buget.

That chime whistle sounds exactly like the SP engines I can still remember from my youth!

I only model steam. To me, diesels all look like one or two models. One is streamlined, the other looks like a yard punk.
Steamers have more individuality. I currently run about 9 of Bachmann’s 0-6-0 locos both for freight/passenger and yard duties. On a small layout they take the curves and still look like “real” engines. I’ll probably get one of these 0-6-0s. I’ve been pleased with Bachmann. Why don’t other makers do something with steam, other than 4-8-8-4? No market? I doubt it, just not enough mark-up.

Brings back a lot of memories since I grew up with steam running right by my folks house about 100 yards away across the street. I lived less than a block away from the depot in North Freedom, WI. I like the sound and looks, probably will be my next purchase.

Sounds great.I would like to see it with smoke. Thanks

I’ve found it to be a brilliant little workhorse. Great to finally have a decent Mogul.

I have one and it is a solid loco for the money. It took a bit of break-in and a thorough lube before it would run smoothly. I found that setting the BEMF chuff rate to 138 comes really close to 4 chuffs per revolution. I like my ACC at about 50 and DEC at about 20. I got mine for right at $100 and it’s hard to beat that deal. I’m a big fan of small steam and short of a smoke unit, this one is hard to beat. Bachmann can keep on doing small steam and I will keep buying. One odd thing is mine will sometimes play the grade crossing signal when I use the throttle buttons on my NCE Powercab. not sure why.

My first steamer. My first Bachmann steamer. My first sound loco. Love the sound, loved the low price until. . . the loco has very spotty electrical pickup, stalling all the time. You do get what you pay for, so keep that in mind.

Great sounds…looks like a smooth runner and a reasonable price…kudos to Bachman!

Even though I model the post-1995 era, am strongly tempted to acquire the Bachman Mogul, The whistle and bell are not “tinny” sounding and undoubtedly the most realistic I have heard.

Picked one up about a month ago. Zero issues and all around outstanding value for DCC & Sound. Highly recommend!

That Loco works great and adds to my layout it is nice that it has the DCC sound.
