Love the video journals, this has really added to your web site.
We are getting through the winter. I am adding some of these ideas to my railroad. Thanks for the hints, we are all looking for more. The web cam is great.
Jerry
Hi David,
Great video! Sure would be great if Andy explained how he built the culvert. Those tight shots really whetted my appetite to know more!
i like Mid Way Junction too
Guys, you are absolutely doing a wonderful job. Your project railroad has inspired me to finish a section of scenery on my railroad. Many of your hints I have filed away to use on future projects of my own pike. Keep-up the great work!!
I really enjoy the video journals. Its great to see areas that are not finished yet, as most of us have areas that either need more work or that are waiting for those finishing touches. Keep up the great work.
Chester.
What happened to “Midway Junction?” Good suggestion. Did you get outvoted? It looks like “Bay Junction” stuck.
Great tips! Just a suggestion though; Try MIDPOINT insted of MIDWAY JUNCTION. It gives the town (junction) an older “sounding” name and adds just a bit more charature.
Merry Christmas and a healthy, happy, and prosperous new year to all at MR and all the MRers out there. I’ve enjoyed the journals. Gives me hope for “re-model reailroading” on my layout. I would like to see some of the actual work being done, however. Like, maybe, seeing David lowering the roadbed, seeing the mock-up being made, etc. These sound like simple tasks, but we all know about reality, it always comes around to bite us. Know what I mean?
great ideas, good job great tips, thanks david
This is a good example of how to change what you have done with out completely taking the layout down. I am wishing that the project shows the new facia profile to look seamess.
David, you must have done a good job of staying on Neil’s case, because we all know that the station kitbash was completed. “Midway Junction” isn’t too bad, but let me toss a couple more name possibilties into the fray … Good 'ol Lake Geneva is kind of, sort half way to Rockford and may suggest “Geneva Junction” (kind of rolls off the tongue) as one. Also, on the west side of Madison, WI, lies the town of Middleton. “Middleton Juncton”, similar to your original is another possibilty.
Very educational;am learning a lot of small pointers on attacking portions of a project. Your doing a great job ;Keep up the great work and looking forward to further videos.
OK, now I have looked at a map of the MR&T not a Google map - Bay Junction is Williams Bay! I keep seeing/hearing “Bay Junction” and forget about Williams. I had you running north of there along the WSOR branch.
So in the words of Roseanne Roseannadanna, “Never mind.”
Have you ever published a track plan of where the MR&T line would go on a real map and where it would actually cross the WSOR? This is often a good hobby exercise.
Why not name the area Elkhorn Junction, since Elkhorn, WI is about midway from Rockford to Milwaukee. Or how about TC Junction for Turtle Creek?
Midway is kind of boring and Bay Junction made no sense with no body of water nearby (Delavan Lake?).
David great job on the series.
You gentlemen have a great occupation there at the Walthers office. If I was any younger and lived closer, I would apply for a job.
Please show an M-Rail commuter train in one of your videos.
Great to follow you guys along the building of Bay Junction
Keep those videos coming !
Good job guys!
