Video: California Zephyr cars in HO from Broadway Limited
I got one of these cars (all I could afford), they certainly are beautiful with interior and end lights. It’s also a great runner, my only complaint is the price.
Bought one of the dome cars in the CB&Q livery for my son and find they are Really Beautiful cars but find them overly pricey…
I have 8 Zephyr cars and while the price is not inexpensive, it is worth it as the cars are RTR. This is in contrast with the Walthers series, Super Chief, Hiawatha, and now 20th Century, that require installation of the grab irons. Are you freaking kidding me?
This might have been fun 30 years ago, but not now. Eyes and finger agility are not what they once were. I have all of the Super Chief cars but have only detailed three cars in 3 years due to the frustration of installing the grab irons ( that are too often out of tolerance dimensionally to fit the holes as indicated by the molded in dimples).
My next passenger cars will be either Rapido or more Broadway. Sorry, Walthers. Time to adapt to the market demographic buying your products.
