After driving roughly 227 miles from Longview, Washington I ended up just west of Union Pacific’s Hinkle Yard near Stanfield, Oregon.
I was able to catch footage of BNSF’s 7548 as it proceeded south on the mainline, which was located west of the Hinkle Yard. I don’t know why this train was operating on the Oregon side of the Columbia River.
My guess would be that this train was transferred due to a slide near Pasco, Washington on the mainline. According to news reports the line was going to be re-opened on (Sunday 7-15-2012). Anyone that railfans in this area please feel free to set me straight as to whether BNSF runs on these tracks with any frequency.
Also on this run I was averaging 46.5 miles per gallon after driving roughly 198.2 miles, so I felt compelled to notify all my viewers that those money grubbing souls that run the energy companies are not getting a ton of my money. I shot this footage of my dash panel while stopping at the rest area near Boardman, Oregon.
Finally, I also included some footage of John Deere tractors in this video.
Enjoy and thanks for watching.
