Video: HO scale SW9 by Proto 2000 from Walthers
I like the throttle ramp up feature, the model is well detailed and built. I have two of them, one pennsylvania and one new york central that I re-decaled to Penn Central
While I appreciate the video reviews there is one annoyance. This is the difference in volumn between the speaker and the equipment. I have to turn up the sound for the locomotive then quickly turn it down for the speaker. Can ya’ll even out the volumn, thanks.
The text on the screen of your video is a great touch. The directional mics are not picking up the locomotives as well as your voices. Not intended to be a put down just an area that could be adjusted a bit. I still look for one of your reviews of a product before purchasing as I have always found your reviews are accurate and an excellent indication of quality.

Can’t hardly hear the sounds from the loco. Try getting the camera mic closer next time maybe.

Once again, the volume of the locomotive even when Dana is not speaking is barely noticeable. Dana’s volume is great however, something is lost when the loco’s sound is isolated. It seems as though we are listening to the unit many yards away. I was not able to determine if the sound was satisfying such that I would purchase the product.

It is absolutely cool and smooth running switcher. I really like the engine idle increasing feature. Every so often railfanning along BN’s Chicago and Iowa mainline in Illinois, I would catch a switcher in locomotive consist being shuttled somewhere. I can now picture a SW9 in green and black trailing my SD45s, F45s, SD40-2s, and GP40s leading BN freights. The added feature of an engine at idle would be a neat effect. Thanks guys.

Well my problem was that even with my sound volume up full .I was still just barely able to hear the video .Needless to say I was very disappointed.

It looks like a nice locomotive but you barely hear the locomotive’s sounds and I think they should also tell you what road names are available, I didn’t hear a price either.
