I tride todo the lines with a small paint brush ,it did’t turn out
to good . Your method looks good, I’m going to try it.

Very nicely done.
I politely suggest using a paint marker instead of a sharpie.
They come in many colors, cost around $10 depending on where you buy them, and give the pavement lines a realistic “fatness” that a sharpie misses.
Templates are almost always a good idea.

I have a similar idea using a product from the roofing/shingle business, called ice shield. I went to my roofong company and asked for some scrap pieces. It has an adhesive backing and the asphalt surface is just great for road surfaces, and parking areas.
Just a little explanation, Ice Shield is used under the first few layers of shingles as they start to bottom edge of the roof.
