Thanks; good video. I’d have put a little more black on the hopper cars, they could get pretty grungy after a while; were never cleaned except by the rain, as far as I know. The box car weathering looks great and I’ll have to give it a try. I’ve so far used only chalk to weather house cars.
concise; well done.
Question: How do I make a jig to hold flat cars for painting?
How do I keep paint from drying in the bottle? I have heard it said that inverting the bottles works, but never tried it.
Great job, now I want to get an air brush! One more thing.
Cody—You just painted the needlepoint end of the axles. How do you clean them without messing up your just painted well faces??
Nice, simple but effective weathering on all cars.
Good job, Cody.
How about some advanced weathering clinics for some really
well-worn and badly-weathered cars?
Great, look’s eazy must give it a go, ( not keen on compresor noise )
Great job Cody. I do all my weathering with a paint brush but after watching you work with the air brush, I am thinking that I should get one. Sure is fast. Thanks for the info. Nice finish also.
nice video
Thanks for the good tip. Cody, I didn’t know you could dilute Poly Scale paint with 70% alchhol ?
How does one paint a flat car?
Doesn’t the paint on the bearing portion of the axle effect the rolling of the car?
Nice job, Cody. I may even try it, though natural dust has done a fair job.
One thing to add to those trying the air brush weathering or just getting into it, is what every air brusher will tell you !!!
" LESS IS MORE "
I love the weathered look and constantly looking for video’s on it dont find as many as I would like. And most of the ones I find go into such detail on mixing or paint chemistry I feel like I should be a chemist to do the project.
Dont care for the powders have tryed it I"ve had more sucess with paint’s I liked your version verry simple and to the point.
Well done .
Great job cody .
I have a problem when painting my locos . I’m painting F7A in N.H . colors ( Model flex ) . My problem is that ,no matter how much or little sanding, dry time or tape used when removeing the tape I get some pealing . would it be better to use alcohal in stead of water to thin the paint ? Thanks for any help .
one word…EXCELLENT
Nice and clear tips with great video shots of how its done.
Thanks
Great article on air brushing. A buddy just gave me his old single actio air brush and cmpressor as he up graded to a dual action. Can’t wait to try it out! Keep up the good work.
