So much easier than having to set up an air brush.
we do a lot of detail with micro brushes cannot use air brush in apt. great tips cody for us seniors the 4 women of this group are building a 32x60 layout with 4 trains two long main routes one short plus 6 rail yard in my apt. very little furniture lots of trains .i love it so,we enjoy it more than words can say.crt/friends
Can the truck side frames be dipped into vinegar to give the surface of the truck a “bit of tooth to adhere to”?
You mentioned club cars in this review, I was wondering if there are any club cars for us N Scaler’s?
One question, where do you get teh microbrush?
Other than that, great tip! I have an airbrush, and I think it might be a bit much for N scale models.
Your videos on weathering without an air brush are just what I needed. I don’t have a spray booth. I have used powders with good results. I am looking forward to using paint washes and dry brushing.
As John from NY and Charles from OR have said, I am in the same boat being in Apartments pretty much. I have used powders for years but when they blew off I never knew why…until now. As an avid N scaler I prefer the powders myself with detail brushes to get what I want, where I want it. There are many books on airbrushing but thanks to you Cody the simple techniques you show open up a world of possibilities. As a tip, when I go to train shows or shops, I find shells from junk cars that are real cheap and practice on those first. Some cars will have four different types of weathering on one side when I am done to find that right combonation. Once again, thanks Cody.

I never considered weathering on my small 4X8 model railroad before. But these videos have changed my mind!
I just tried (with great success) Liquitex acrylic INK (from AC Moore & Michaels, plus art suppliers). Lots of useful colors and blendable.
Wash the surface with alcohol and thin the ink slightly… then use similar to the video!
