Great video! The long consist looks really awesome on those super elevated curves and western scenery of the N scale Salt Lake Route project layout.

Neat train, but we barely got a good look at it, next time spend more time on the train please!

Outstanding product. A little bit more on the train next time.

The set looks great. It sure look good running on the N scale Salt Lake Route layout.

Does anyone make a close coupling kit for the locomotives? Looks like they are about 5 or 6 scale feet apart. Notice the cars are more closely coupled.

Looked good on the layout, though.

Very nice views of the " EL"

A great set on a great layout. As an N scaler with a large model railroad, I’m glad to see more MR effort in N scale. My layout is 99% Unitrack, so I’m also glad to see you highlight this great product. One minor negative comment on the article itself however. That is that even though you have chosen to manually control the turnouts, the fact that Unitrack turnouts are controlled by DC polarity changes and only require a two wire hookup should have at least been mentioned.

I wish Kato could do a little closer coupling of the engines.

Otherwise, THANK YOU Kato for bringing out another fine Santa Fe passenger train.

Some info on the power units please!!!

Great video, I love the Salt Lake layout I just wish Kato would come out with more HO products.

Dana pronounced Kato as if it were “Kahto.” More commonly I’ve heard “Kayto.”
which is correct? Nice model, otherwise.

I liked the review but in all of the reviews that Dana has done he needs to look into the camera and not above. Rearrange the script so he isn’t looking above the camera but into the camera which will give the presentation a more personal interaction with the audience.

Reference to the James Neubauer comment, Dana pronounced KATO correctly. A Tracks Ahead show on PBS visited the KATO facility in Japan and met with Mr. Kato and that’s how they pronounced it. (Kahto). The Kato facility has large HO and N scale layouts for their customers to use. Most Japanese homes are too small for layout space so they can sign up for layout time to run their trains. Oh and the train in the video looks great.

I agree—it’s a beautiful train. But how well did it run on the OTHER SIDE of the layout through all that turnout-rich yard trackage? PRODUCT RATING = 4 out of 5…until I see how it “tracks” through turnouts!

This train is longer than my railway. Looks great all the same.

Outstanding choice of music!

Great video, makes want to change from HO to N Scale to run long trains.

Look great and it ran smoothly. Wish it had sound, though!

Loved the look of the long train snaking through the layout. Very much like the look of a super long CP Rail freight winding down through British Columbia’s Fraser Canyon en route to Vancouver from points east. And, as far as I am concerned, there’s no look like the look of those AB and ABBA loco combo’s. Sweet!
