Hey guys,

I just uploaded my first Youtube video.

Climb up into the Railgon gondola and enjoy a ride around my outdoor track. The train has GP38-2 DT&I 1776 as the lone power on the point with 28 cars and a caboose stretching out at about 65 feet long.

This video is one lap around the track (approx. 320 feet).

Hi Brian:

Very nice! That’s one long train. It looks like your railway is raised off the ground about three or four feet. What do you use for the uprights? I have a need for some elevated sections and was wondering what you are using. It certainly looks strong enough.

Hi Brian, That is some loco pulling 28 wagons what is the power of the engine? and a real smooth run with the video camera how did you manage that?

That train is huge! You have a nice layout. Wait one minute, you climbed in the railgon? You know you can’t do that, you might fall a scale 50 ft. - Peter

Joe, I used 2" PVC pipe driven deep into the ground (well below the frost line).

Two tone, It’s just a stock USA Trains GP38-2 but I pulled the electronics out of it and put in battery powered CVP Airwire900 R/C DCC with a Soundtraxx DSX sound decoder. The batteries give smooth continuous power…no interuptions…no track cleaning nescessary.

Peter, funny you mention that…just after I stopped the video camera a gust of wind blew the 60’ NW hycube boxcar off the table onto the ground…it suffered no damage thank goodness. But I did race to get the cars inside before the wind came up again.
