I really enjoyed the video. I don’t have my layout up and running yet.
Thanks for showing us your home layouts. It’s neat to see them come alive after reading about 'em in Model Railroader. One thing I noticed is that y’all had coats on at each layout. You do have heat in the layout rooms, right? I guess you just forgot once you see the trains. Cody, when will we see your home layout? Looking forward to seeing the what progress was made, next year.
Fine business! The layout tours do inspire us al with ideas and what the different scales offer. Being an ‘old hand’ in HO scale for many years I too have been doing a bit of bulding in N scale using the mod-u-rail type concept of bases and KATO track sections to lock the base sections together. The hobby is still fun and will be for many years to come. Thanks for a great mag. that I look forward to every month to see new ideas to try on the layouts.

Thank you for showing us your layouts, I see I’m not the only one not finished. Too bad it was late in the day when we visited Winsted…kinda dark!
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour! Glad to see the Model Railroader staff still has work to do on their layouts. AS DO WE ALL! Got to show this video to my wife!
This is the first time I have viewed this segment. It is an excellent way to demonstrate what can be achieved in modelling. It is also a great way to see a layout operating in real time rather than looking at still photos. Well done.
I too, miss the basement space and cool air. As several said, it’s nice to know the layouts are not finished all over. Some of them could use some more lighting. They would do well to look at how dark the layout appears and remedy the shadow areas.
Keep up videos like this. Maybe mine will be there someday.

ALL OF THE LAYOUTS ARE VERY WELL DONE AND I CAN SEE
THAT THE HOURS SPENT ON THOSE LAYOUTS HAS PAYED OFF
AND THAT SHOWS HOW MUCH THE LOVE OF MODEL RAILROADING
IS ON THE RISE. GOOD JOB TO ALL
I had the opportunity to see Marshall Sommers ROAD HAVEN last weekend. I was so impressed and the talent that he has is definitely to marvel.I video taped as much as I could ,just so I could have some ideas.I am also going to be modeling the New Haven, but with a modified version which will include the old Central Vermont.I grew up in the Old depot Village and I have very fond memories from what I saw when I was growing up.
I found the videos and the commentaries very enjoyable. I look forward to seeing more.
Great Job Guys! Thank you all for opening your basements to us. I would love to see a layout video tour combined with articles in MR for each month’s issue. One thing i came away noticing is the ceilings in each basement, some are finished and some are not. I know that the magazine has always said to finish the ceiling first to avoid dust and other debri on the layout.
Please…more videos. Joe Mahahwash
Great video, I especially liked Jim Kelley and David Popp’s layouts…who said N scale is a dying breed…keep up the awsome work and thanks for the inspiration
Thank you for sharing the layout tour again. There are always pleanty of ideas and inspiration. Mr. Popp, the progress looks fantastic.
Great to see what the people of MR are doing at home. As many have alluded to it’s also great to see that even you guys are happy to have “fun” at times with the hobby. Whilst we strive to reproduce a miniature facsimile of factual occurrences it’s still a hobby designed for enjoyment. It’s why I don 't have a problem running an AC6000 at same time on my layout as a big boy when I just want to play trains. When I want to operate the modern stuff comes off and it’s back to the late 40’s - 50’s.
As for the sound in video it’s part of what’s offered with garage band on the Mac. This is some of the sampler stuff included, you can create some amazing original scores as well very easily as well. Sorry David and Cody don’t want to rain on your parade.
Great video!! Excellent layouts in all stages of development. The N scale layouts were super!!
I was glad to see some bare wood and unballasted track.
No really, that was a lot of fun!
Thank you so much for sharing!

The layouts were an inspiration for me to get into high gear on building four modules for our N scale club.
Thanks very much for allowing the visits. It is always interesting to see how others do their thing. Was that tree sticking out at a 30 degree angle on Jim Kelly’s layout there to see if anybody would notice? I have trouble making them stand up straight sometimes too.
Very well presented. Nice to see the updates from last years tour. Also nice to see layouts in various stages of construction even from the people who do the the hobby as a career. Need to get Cody started on his so we can see another layout.
Thansk Very Much Guys for showing us your work. It is a pleasure to see ours editors layouts and I look forward to the tour every year now. Keep it up guys !
