I agree with Anthony. Totally awesome. I’m a Colorado narrow gauge guy, but the great thing about Alco diesels is they smoke like steam engines, and this one even has that!
I’m planning on getting a set of SP units. These are awesome.
nice looking units. are they going to be available in pennsy with antennas?
Just gorgeous!
They are very nice models. It is enjoyable to see the Denver, Rio Grande and Western PA 1 and PB 1 pulll the Califoria Zephyr after the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy E8As and Bs went off then these two go off and the Western Pacifc FP7A’s or F7As even the F3As or FTAs take over the rest of the trip into California. These locomotives are real nice and I am wondering what other railroads they come in. I am planning to build a model railroad layout in my barn by modeling the New York Central through Utica, NY back in the days when the New York Central rolled through Utica, NY.
They are beautiful models, excellent quality.
Here in Brazil, had the three units that carried passenger trains in the 60 '. Belonged to the Paulista Railway.
Really NICE review, I am an MTH fan myself and am very pleased with the capabilites of DCS.
great job looks super.
Awesome. Although the video is all about the Alcos, I would loved to have seen those beautiful CZ cars too.
Sounds and looks great !
Do you have any info on what they use for the smoke system? nicrome wire and what is the circuitry for the heating element?
Very impressive, but not my scale
Looks great, sounds authentic…
Bruce Poi- The only thing that would have made it more prototypical Alco is if the smoke was black, especially from a dead start before the turbocharger can get involved…
Do you ever do reviews of the MTH engines with just the NMRA sockets, and can you provide any information on them vs their proprietary DCC system? For example, how well does it interface with a Digitrax, NCE or other systems…thanks.
These Alco’s look and sound great.
Some day I might switch from N scale to HO scale.
It is truly a shame that the MTH locos are proprietary and not FULLY compatible with DCC. Reminds me allot of Apple Computers. Nice looking locos though.
Very nice, I’m still waiting all the MTH models ready to run on 3 rail system.
I am also MTH fan , the very best model trains
