Jim, I also started with the Aurora Postage Stamp trains late 1969. In fact, I still have the original box of the first set I bought! I got my first one at a store called E. J. Korvettes, which was near to Elmhurst, IL. the city where my late brother Ken Tendick was a member of the Elmhurst Model R.R. Club. Two of my old engines and quite a few (updated) boxcars, hoppers and tankers still ride my rails!
I really enjoy your column and hope it will be a regular feature for years to come!
