VIDEO: NS highlights dangers of trespassing with survivor’s tale
This is a sobering reminder of what can happen from taking chances. Thanks to Mr. Kalina for having the courage to share his ordeal with the rest of us.
This guy is amazing and inspiring…! I heard him speak at an OLI event a year ago, and he is articulate and engaging. I am so glad that he is choosing to made lemonade with the fruits of his choices.
Kudos to you, Mark…Bravo! We would all benefit from following your example.
I’m confused. He says he lost his left leg being run over by a train. Yet in the photos, he has two prosthetics. I’m glad he is using his trevails to hopefully save others from the same fate.
As a teenage railfan, I used to trespass on that very line back when the PRR and NYC paralleled each other there. Now NS and CSX own the lines, but the situation is the same. Like Mark, I’ve since come to understand what’s at risk and no longer trespass on railroad property - ever. Thanks, Mark. I admire your strength, determination and willingness to alert others to the dangers. And thanks, NS, for casting this warning in a positive way.
