Interesting. I’ve seen them light up when they’re notching up, but never while idling.
What category does Youtube file these kinds of videos under? I have never figured out an easy way to find the videos I see posted on this forum.
Bruce
Injectors messed up have had that happen a few times they will pop like that at idle and as engine tries to speed up itself for the air compressor it will shoot off more. Im kinda in favore like this engineer and letthe thing blow then its one last piece or junk we haft to run
I post my under the catagory Autos Vehicles. For searching I use Trains railroads
Just type what you’re looking for, like say GP30. Still you have to pay attention. I like to search for videos of locos being started and to many people put up a dinky little 20 second video when the prime mover fires instead of showing the starting pricedure. There are a couple good videos that show the entire starting procedure from blowing cylinders to prime mover cylinder of a GP16 and another of an F-Unit.
U can subscribe to my YT video channel. That way YT delivers the posted video directly into your in box [:)]
There’s at least two videos I’ve seen showing the starting of an SD40-2 and a C44-9W. Even showing the “in the cab” stuff (breakers, relays, etc).
Thanks spbed and MILW-RODR.
When I saw the browse button at the top of the video I was hoping there was a way to drill down though various categories. Say something like Auto Vehicles>Railroads>Comapny Name or Auto Vehicles>Railroads>Country>Province or State.
I thought if I could avoid going the search engine route I might find something interesting along the way.
I haven’t bought much on E-Bay but I’ve never bought anything I set out to search for. I found what I did buy by just clicking around the site. I was hoping YouTube would have been as easy to use.
Sorry to take so long getting back to you, I just was too busy yesterday.
