This could be any burg along the Sunset Route for sure. Pelle, make sure you give that set out car a full set and tie that handbrake!!
Pelle, I really enjoy your videos. I feel like I’m railfanning in Daneville (Mojave). I recognize South Mojave in which you’ve used the highway bridge out of town as a view block with great effect. Keep those videos coming and Thank You! BTW, I’ve always wondered how to pronounce the slashed out o in many Scandinavian names.
How does he make the air hoses disconnect like that? That’s really cool!
It is a pity this new rebuilt layout no longer exists…I look forward to his next project, the Midwest, should be good!
The only thing missing from Pelle, layout to make it look totally real would be the Faller “roadway system”. In the opening scene if the vehicle on the highway was moving, along with the trains, I believe that it would so much like a “real” scene. The scenery and the blending of the back drops make it look so convincing I thought I was back in Arizona/California again. Realise the the roadway system would cost a mottaza amount of money, and another learning curve to run and programme. Pelle, keep up the excellent work.
Really nice video. I admire Pelle’s work and artistry in creating these scenes. Of course it certainly helps that he’s modeling my favorite railroad!
Pelle has absolutely nailed the look. I have spent most of my life in southern CA and central AZ. Looking at the scenery gives me the feeling I have been there; I have driven through that town and eaten at that Denny’s. Nice job!
Outstanding creation!
I hope to see more videos of your layout Pelle. Especially the cement plant. Your layout is absolutely amazing!!!
Congratulations Pelle. With just the right amount of attention to detail you have created what most of us strive to achieve, by which I mean that illusive railroad atmosphere, or put more simply that ’ lived in ’ look. Superb!
Nice to see the town of Mojave (Daneville) and the surrounding desert so well modeled. Since the surrounding area has so many wind farms, has Pelle considered modelling this as well? I wonder if any of these wind farms show up on his photo backdrops? The trains that carry these parts are pretty interesting too. Anyway, great video!
How did you make the air hoses disconnect like that and who makes them?
So realistic I was waiting for people to come out of the shop and the car to move. Excellent work and the patience of Job.
I love how the coupler hose drops down when the loco leaves behind the boxcar. That is an awesome effect!
To answer Matthew in Texas, the air hoses are a product you can purchase, the hose ends are magnetic, however, you have to remove the metal replica one that is on the coupler so you cannot perform an un-coupling effect with a magnet under the baseboard for example, you have to use a hand tool to do that part with the coupler plus some video editing thrown in…!
Amaizing! Please share more videos and articles on this fantastic layout. It doesn’t get any more real than this.
EXCELLENT!!!
Awesome! Among the very best models and modelers on the planet. While far from the biggest layouts, his use of space and simplicity of design are exactly what make it realistic. I am inspired and impressed!
Where did he find the McDonalds, kit bashed, scratch built or a kit? It looks great too, he definitely nailed that whole project. Your attention to detail is fantastic, great job!
