I am impressed with the sound. I have been looking for a sound decoder for my CF7 and I think I will go with the Tsunami.
Your 3:18 pitch convinced me. I think the decoder is a very good one.
This may have been a good sound if you can hear it. I heard andy loud and clear, but I’m sorry to say I heard nothing from the engine!
I have installed several of the Tsunami diesel sound decoders in my HO diesel fleet. Personally feel they are the best siesel sound decoder on the market today. Thsy allow for setting up the CV’s for great speed and sound control. Most others on the market, limit the user’s ability to make the finer adjustments in both areas. A comment to Tom from Georgia, Andy had adjusted the various individual sound volumes to his liking. Thsy could be set higher if the user desires. Great job Andy, Picked up some new ideas to try.
I agree with earlier comments, I heard Andy fine, but could not hear the diesel sound very well. I heard the horn, and bell faintly, but not the diesel engine sound at all. however great sound system.
Sorry to disappoint all the other guys replies but I heard the diesel sounds perfectly, even the brake squeal when it came to a stop.
Once again another fine decoder from SoundTraxx.
I wonder if I can fit it into my Inter Mountain F3?
I really like Soundtraxx sounds, but why does the bell change its ring rate (speed) as the prime mover throttles up? You can hear it change at 0:27 and 1:33. The bell should ring at a consistant rate. I hope that is some kind of CV correction.
Soundtraxx is certainly way ahead of the sound curve vs. others like QSI. I’m not sure QSI has ever really heard a real 567 throttle up. Thanks for sharing this product.
I am really impressed. Best sound system I’ve heard yet. Thanks for the demo, Andy.
I thought it was an excellent video. I hear all sounds very well. Nice idlling sound Great demonstration. Thanks
Excellent sound decoder. Horn and bell sound are very solid. Engine sound is fantastic. I am very impressed. It is interesting to note that when ever the diesel starts to move there is a slight acceleration in the bell as well as engine sound that drops off to normal in about 1.5 seconds.
Nice sound and commentary and picture clarity. Keep up the good work.
'Great demo! This convinced me that when I begin retrofitting my locomotive roster for sound, I’m going to use the Tsunami decoders.
Great job, Andy! I loved the sound. BTW, has anyone figured out
how to add locomotive sounds to Railcommand carrier control?
Short of reinvesting in a pure DCC system is there any other way?
Hi Andy Thats the best sounding 567 motor sound ive ever heard these sound chips just keep getting better all the time.gotta get one. Thanks for the article cheers phill
There are new, feature rich decoders offered today but the Tsunami dose work well and is a proven product so I choose to stay with Soundtrax for now. I could hear the sound effects well enough to to tell this is a quality product. I do agree that for some folks, the engine sounds could be more clearly recorded so they could really hear to true quality of the product. I have not had to deal with Soundtrax technical support but many DCC manufacturers have fallen down in this area due to over complicated instruction that could be simplified for folks who are not as tech savy… and many that are technical for that matter. Many stay away from DCC due to Technical support being way to complicated.
Excellent sound reproduction. Best I’ve heard on one of these broadcasts.
I think the sound was very good and i like it.
very nice demonstration.is any decoder and sound available for N scale?
I have always been impressed with the Soundtraxx decoder products and this does not dissapoint. Now I am going to have install some myself as I convert to DCC. Another excellent video description. Thank you.
