Great use of a mirror. Great ideas too.
Very enjoyable video, nicely done. Well thought out sleight of hand with the use of your corner buildings. And of course, I am sure we will all reflect on your use of mirrors. lol
Seriously I found this very instructional.
High marks on this video guys. Wasn’t a short little clip and was interrsting. Hope we see lots more of these in the future.
What a great video! Excellent ideas!
Wow! What a great job. The concept is quite simple, but most effective. Looks like a real place one might visit. Looking forward to seeing the other areas.
Really nicely narrated and gave me the sense that any one can do it. I liked your use of leftovers to make buildings to fill a space with out making them signature items, nor detracting from those that are. I also like that you have used DPM, Walthers stuff rather than being purely craftsman or scratch built. Has given me some ideas for a corner of mine too. Thanks
Great video production with plenty of town layout and visual depth ideas. Especially the single figure at the mirror. Thanks.
Excellent video!
I really like the scenery, grass, etc next to and below the salvage yard, down the hill to the tunnel portal. What did you use to create the tall grass effect? Very nice buildings also! Well done video!
Thanks to EVERYONE for your generous comments! I appreciate it.
Ernest Barney: the grass on the hillside is made from fake fur (the stuff they use as lining for winter coats), with a little Woodland Scenics ground foam sprinkled on to add some texture. Thanks for noticing it!
Thanks! You have done a very fine job on making the scene look realistic and quite large. The ‘half-buildings’ look really complete. Like the town square feature
Well done. Towns are the reason for a railroad to exist in the first place. The approach used here is most interesting. It reminds me of the work of Paul Dolkos. His small railroad is enhanced by the inclusion of a small, well detailed town. John Allen is also one of my inspirations and it is good to see a few of his methods used to complete this beautiful scene.
This kind of video is a great add on the any article. It was great to see how this town was planned and built. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for sharing. There is a small town in my layout that has several new improvements in its future.
Thank you for the insight. Beautiful work.
Very well done. The scrap yard looks like it was designed to be part of the original design instead of and add lib as the town was being built. Great design and execution.
Thank you, I love seeing how and why you adapt the city to the space. You gave me some great ideas for my layout.
Thanks for both the articles and the video. Both were excellent and mutually enhancing. Although my own “Westcott” is based (albeit very loosely) on Jamestown in South Australia and Jamestown is both hotter and dryer than Westcott, your video and articles have made my head explode with ideas.
Thank you for an excellent presentation and the encouragement of adding a building you did before the major model. Those of us without the big model can still work on the small pieces.
