Video: Trainfest Friday 2010

Great episode, nice to see what happens “behind the scenes”…by the way where’s that Grivno dude and why isn’t he there helping?

I never realized how much work was involved with setting up for a large show such as this one. I was there and saw a GREAT show. Thanks for letting me experience the behind-the-scenes look!

the video stuck at 3:22 min .

Each year I want to attend. Oh well, another year gone by. There is hope for next year. Thanks for the show.

Way to make me homesick, Guys! Some of my happiest times in manufacturing were visiting trainshows like TrainFest, and talking with modelers and other manufacturers. I learned a lot, and met people I still count as friends. Best wishes to all the booth residents and visitors!

Events like this are fun to come to, everything is all set up and working great. It’s good to see the hard work that goes into making things ready before we arrive.

Sounds like fun.

David P mentioned that Kalmbach’s G scale train under the tree was a “kid magnet.” I worked the nearest entrance door Sunday 9 to 11 am – ordinarily that is a “quiet time” but I clicked in 1300 folks and that did not include repeat visitors and vendors, and I was just one of two at that door. When some kids would wait for dad or mom to hand in the tickets the Kalmbach booth and that train was one of the first things they’d see. It was like an instant sugar high! I remember one boy maybe 4 who just started screaming “trains trains trains trains trains…”

Great! Good production. Enjoy seeing your super staff. Have enjoyed your publication for more years than than I can remember - all the way back to when it was more like a 5x7 publication and Keen’s Model Railroads had it store on G Place (almost like an alley) in downtown Washington, DC. Happy Holidays to all!

I would like to attend a train fest in the atlanta area, I bet it would be as interesting as the one in Wisconson. How does someone get invalved in helping out at one of these shows?
Thanks for the video.

Thank you, I want a tree oranment (sorry bad spelling) and yet I know I can’t get one at lease you know some one want one.

Kudos to David Popp for another job well done. I live in the east and have never had the opportunity to see Trainfest. I attend various show here in the Atlantic Seaboard and I really can appreciate all of the hard work that is involved. The video was great. Thanks David.

Seeing the many facets of the MRR family and the jovial way you all work together gives me a warm feeling being a customer.
Keep up the wonderful work of promoting a great hobby.

Cody better watch himself, Dave did a pretty good job.

I have exhibited with our group the Capital City "N"Gineers in Trainfest since 1985. Trainfest is a must-see (or attend) event. As modeler, if you don’t come away with some new perspectives and ideas, you weren’t looking. A trainshow is an excellent opportunity to show off your modeling skills, your model train collections, and introduce the public to the joy of model railroading.

Many years ago, this hobby was very male oriented, but in the last several years we are seeing more women, and whole families getting into the hobby. This is due to many of the local trainshows throughout North America, and I sincerely hope to see this hobby grow even more with these public events.

I enjoy Trainfest, the hard work setting up the layout, running the trains, and yes… getting off of my feet the day after. If you are a member of a club, round-robin group or a single railroader modeler, get involved in the your local Trainshow. You won’t regret it.

Always a pleasure to see MRM staff in action. Although I know shows are a lot of work and long hour, you guys seem to be quite happy. Thanks.

What? No outtakes?

Thank you David. That was very entertaining
The interaction with the rest of the team on a one to one
basis is fun to watch. good job.

Bet it’s cold up there. Been pretty chilly down in the south, I can’t imagine how cold it is up in Wisconsin!
