A really handsome looking consist there. In the night scene it would be great if the cars had lighting too that you could turn on and off in the coach sectionsa and rooms and such. I know when is it too much… right?.. nevea!!!

Passenger trains are very impressive. At about 12" per car this train must be about 16 feet long. Makes you wish you had an arena sized layout!

My only disappointment was the dome observation car. It was modeled as the mid-train version and not as the end of train with the rear windows and dome-liner drumhead.

Very impressive Train,
My complete train has arrived from Hobbies USA, so I had better progress that Cajon Pass Layout past the Track Plan and into reality.

Why not Southern E-8 or E-9.

What a beautiful train! Walthers “Train-A-Year” program is great. Wish I could buy em all. Can’t wait till they do an Illinois Central streamliner. What a beautiful layout! Wish I could bring my passenger trains to run on it.

Thought the locos and cars were exceptional, however
the sound system left a little to be desired.

Liked the video but had a hard time reading the white lettering against the light background. Cocider that in your next video . Iam working on my new layout 16x12 walk in having fun

Impressive - a nice smooth ride - if someone had waved I would have waved back.

Pre-Amtrak passenger trains have always been my favorite, whether in prototype or model (somehow Amtrak trains just don’t cut it; maybe because they lack the nostalgia). This UP City train is a superb model, with the prototype variety of car types. It looks great on a layout such as this, with long straights and broad curves. The only distraction: the bell is too high pitched and tinny sounding.

Nice Product. Too bad I’m an N Scaler.

GREAT TRAIN

Beautiful train. I didn’t hear a horn.

weak no drama

I loved the train.

In 1962, enroute to Korea, I rode the City of San Francisco, Milw/UP/SP, from Chicago to San Francisco. I will always think of this as a splendid adventure. I remember our train
had a full dome diner. The model shown is outstanding.

Awesome high bridge ande night scenes!!!

I read an article last year about backdrops and they used white cotton for cloud effects. Might try it on your shop layout.

I’m in agreement with Mr. Lagerstrom, which is why I asked the Walther’s people at trainfest: Since you guys did make the dome lounge observation cars for Rivarrossi why not just pull those plans back out and re make them with the new Walthers sets? Honestly, the cars look awesome, but according to railroading standards there does have to be a flashing (or solid) light at the end of the passenger consist. And the UP cars do come from an era before FRED. Other than that downside, Awesome cars, I like them. Will look good with the Walther’s/Rivarossi sets I have.
