Good afternoon, My name is Joe Ashley and I am the marketing manager for Loram Maintenance of Way. Like the rest of you, I enjoy watching videos of trains and equipment on the tracks. If you would like to see some of the videos we have created you can visit www.loram.com, and click on the ftp area tab on the left, and then click on videos. Hope you enjoy,
Welcome Joe! It’s always nice to have a professional around that’s knowledgeable in certain areas of the industry. I, for one, am interested in learning as much as I can (being an outsider) about MoW equipment as I feel it’s one of the ‘swept aside’ (for lack of a better term) aspects of RRing.
Loram stands for Long Range Mannix. Mannix International started out as a construction firm in Western Canada a long time ago. It is really an interesting history as they took part in some of the great construction projects of the early 1900’s. Glad you enjoyed the videos. I will try and get more on-line in the coming weeks.
This is some of the best information I have seen on the forum for a long time. The videos answer a lot of questions I have had about the machines that do track repair. I got to see one of the rail grinders in action on the main lines through my area, and it was awesome.
Thanks Joe for posting and post more if you have them! [:)] Jim
