Is it possible to watch videos on the MR website such as ‘Cody’s Office’ on an iPad?
Sorry, sounds like a silly question if I actually had an iPad, I am thinking of buying one. Reading the digital version of MR would also be great if that were possible.

Not yet. There’s not function java for IOS, although it’s in the works. Would like to see it in 2012, but it’s anyone’s guess when it will actually happen.
JMRI itself will not run, there’s no Java on an iPad. However, there is a web server component that works just great so you can access panels on the iPad, and the WiThrottle app works on the iPad as well as iPhone and iPod Touch to control your trains.
Reading the magazine should work, there is a Zinio app for the iPad, which is what MR uses to publish the electronic version of the magazine. I just added digital versions to my subscription and it looks fine on my HP TOuchpad using the Zinio app.
