If ya’ll haven’t checked out Lou Palumbo’s Views from the Underground column in the January CTT, check it out! It is superb–quite possibly his best ever. Good to see Lou back in the magazine. [:)]

I haven’t seen the January issue yet, but have been meaning to drop Lou a thank you note (Lou, if you read here… thanks! Good column!). I saw him on one of the TM Layout videos made years ago and he was on the right track years ago. I agreed with him then, and agree with him now.
Somone once joked if my screen name was an alias for Lou because we both have been such avid promoters for affordable train products.
Nope, I am me and Lou is Lou. Besides Lou has a little more meat on his bones than I do. [:D]
And unlike Lou, I have in recent years chosen church over train shows. [:D] In all honesty I have enough trains…
I got to see Lou at York. He didn’t remember, but I was one of his regular customers when he first opened his store a few miles south of Westminster College when I was a Junior there. He’s one of the great characters that makes our hobby great.
I told Roger Carp that Lou was a great addition to an already terrific mag!

I’ve never met the man, but I’ve always enjoyed his columns. Lou just flat-out “gets it.” [;)]
he’s been gone from the mag for far too long… He’s a great guy to talk to. I always make it to his place this time of year, if not during the summer. But I always love seeing his layout.
The man got me into the hobby. Sold me a 1689e set when i was eleven. He really is a great guy, even though he busts my chops every once in awhile. Makes some good wine too. [bow]
