Vineyard Ave Flyover

… and Super Hunky (8-11):

There were a lot of odds and ends to complete the last time I was by the Milliken Ave. Flyover, so if all traffic lanes are open now, that is good news indeed!

I was by the Colton Flyover this past Wednesday, and was disappointed that nothing seemed to be advancing track-wise. If you are seeing activity there, well, that sounds promising.

If you read the memo to billio above, this coming Tuesday I will be running around, so will try to drop by the Colton Flyover too.

About laying a second main over Vineyard Ave. in Ontario, while maintenance upkeep track work was taking place on the single-track Main on December 13, 2012 as below …

… the line has a few areas needing major bridge additions, as over the flood control waterway between Grove Ave. and Vineyard Ave. pictured above Whenever that particular bridgework is started, it will be a sure sign two-tracking that area is imminent!

Hey KP I have enjoyed following your Forum for several years now and have finally decided to chime in from time to time.

As to Vineyard ave by the Ontario airport check the Sanbag site as they indicate it is on the list for a grade separation. No info there as to whether it will be a flyover or underpass though…

You have certainly set an enviable goal for yourself…

KP Harrier, and the other respondents to his Magnum Opus have done quite a job of documenting the work being done there on the UP, and its improvements. Many of us around this Forum have enjoyed following the Saga. [:-^]

That excellent documentation and photography that has accompanied the Threads authored by K.P. Harrier, and the others who have contributed to that Forum Project all deserve a pat on the back!

We have been pretty fortunate around her to have been able to see the work done on the West Coast Projects, but also several years back, Dale (nanaimo 73 ) did a beautiful and thorough project, in which, he documented all the Railroad Crossings of the Mississippi River from The Upper to the Lower; The first, to the latest bridge crossings by railroads of that river.

It would be interesting, I think to get these specially documented projects in some kind of a book format. I have always hoped that someone at Kalmbach would have done them as a project. [2c]

Welcome to the forum, Lloyd (@Super Hunky)!

Hopefully you live or work in the area, as we can always use someone to spell K.P. from driving down from his Mountain [:D]. Get out your digital camera and join the fun!

Due to the number of expensive ‘obstacles’ nearby, I agree that Vineyard Ave should be in the ‘last’ block to get a second track. UP probably will wait until the City of Ontario and SANBAG find the $$$ to build this separation.

I would be surprised if they didn’t duplicate the Archibald Ave road underpass design - similar terrain and street layout.
