Vintage Hafner

I have a hafner train from about 1934, in the original box. Engine and 4 cars with all the track…Going to put it on ebay, what’s the going price… It’s in great shape, however I think the main spring has disconnected from the key, Any comments or suggestions out there?

If it’s in great shape you may get 150.00. Is it a Century of Progress set? Could get more.
Put it on e-bay and find out. I’m sure you’ll get a hundred anyway.

Condition actually matters more than whether it runs. Some people just want them as display pieces. And the people who want them to run, can drop in another motor without affecting the value, which isn’t true of repaints.

I agree with Paul, $100 is a good starting point for a Hafner. Just a suggestion though: Put it up next week, not this week. There’s a huge train show in York, Pennsylvania this weekend and that’s going to affect the number of people watching the set on Ebay this week. The week of York is absolutely the worst time to list a train on Ebay because so many potential bidders are traveling to York and/or saving their money for the show.

Thanks Guys for the Tip on ebay, this weekend might be a good time to buy. Regards Steve

I appreciate the information… Will probably list on eBay next week per the suggestions…]
