Hi all!
I’m wondering if anyone can identify the Engines in the lower part of the picture? I was told they were made in France? And they were Vintage, maybe Standard or O gauge? Did France make any Hobby trains back then?

Hi Ted,
it is quite difficult to tell from the little picture, who made those models. As you give no reference to the size, it is also difficult to tell, which scale they are in.
In any case, they could have been made in France, Germany or the US. O scale was the favorite scale in the years between WW I and WW II, with brands like Marklin and Bing from Germany, Meccano and JEP from France, and certainly Lionel in the US catering for the market.
If you are able to provide some more pics showing each loco, maybe there is someone in here to help you identify your locos.
You might get a faster answer by moving your inquiry over to the Classic Toy Trains forum – that’s where most of the O scalers hang their hats. The MR forum is more for the HO and N scale crowd.
Thanks for the suggestion…done!

I recognize a Lionel O Gauge powered section gang car (the orange job near the caboose). I also recognize “Lionel Lines” on the side of the black tender. The orange cartons are a Lionel trademark. So all the rolling stock looks O gauge. I do not recognize either of the steamers. They may be Marx or something else.
The collector’s market for O gauge is real and some items can be quite valuable, although most of them are not. You want to find a O gauge collector, perhaps thru a local model train club.
Or try your hand on E-bay. You need good photographs and as much description as you can gather but E-bay gives good prices.
