Virtual Modeling

One of the downsides of being a college student not having the space for a layout. I have two options for dealing with this problem. Option 1 is to get into N-Gauge which although small enough to fit in a dorm room, is not tough enough to stand up to other colege students being less than respectfull. Option two is build a railroad on my PC with Trainz Railroad Simulator 2004. This allows me to have a layout as big as I wish, I can run whatever equipment I want and even load/unload cargo at various industries. I highly recomend this program for those with limited space and a powerfull PC.

GP-9_Man11786,
You don’t have to have the layout in your dorm or at your fraternity. It was some fifty years ago when about fifteen other freshmen and I formed a model railroad club as a student activity. We held meetings, collected dues, petitioned for and got a decent size room, etc. Admittedly, in those days having a virtual layout really wasn’t an option. [:)]
