Waffle side boxcars?

I am looking at acquiring some CSX 50’ waffle side boxcars, would be a nice addition to my growing CSX fleet, but a question for any who know…would these cars still be in service in the late 80’s/early 90’s, or were they being phased out? Are any still in servicre today? I believe the CSX cars were Seaboard line inheritences…

There is a pic of a B&O waffle side box car # 485300, class B-97 dated 1985 in the “B&O color guide…page 89” Your CSX car may have a B&O heritage. It was made in 1970 so it’s very possible it still around in the 90’s.

I regularly see CSXT waffle side boxcars.

I believe that CSX’s waffle side boxcars also came from The Chessie System side of the merger too as well as Seaboard. I’m sure they might still be in service now or at the very least still were during the `90s.

I used to see waffle side 50’ boxcars painted in Family Lines livery when I lived in Ft Lauderdale, FL during the 70’s.
