Wal-Mart

I have heard a few of you mention that Wal-Mart has Athearn HO freight and or others.

I have never, ever seen anything related to a hobby train on the shelves, but I decided to take a look.

Here in the Dallas TX area, no such luck. What part of the country are you seeing them at Wal-Mart.

I think what you heard about are freight cars that are nearer to TT scale in size. The only time I see HO trains at Wal-Mart is at Christmas.

Ours in middle Georgia stock some sort of Athearn sets year round. Usually something stupid like the John Deere stuff, but they have something. Now come close to Christmas, it’s a whole different ballgame.

I guess about the flashiest one they’ve had here was the Athearn Coca-Cola set. Classic and Diet Coke.

The thing many of us have been finding at Wal-Mart is die-cast model automobiles in 1:87 scale. These are generally available elsewhere, but Wal-Mart has been selling a bunch of the older ones for under $2, over in the toy section with the race cars and action figures. Recently a new batch has been showing up at my LHS, and I’ve picked up a couple of, well, pickups.

Mister B, You would have to say that. Every one has pickups but me, feel sorry for me??? send me your pickups, LOL Mike

Yes, I bought some Malibu’s a few weeks ago. But they did not have any pickups either.

Pick ups? what year pick ups? are the painted decently?
