- Did the Walthers Cornerstone series replace the Proto 2000 Series HO buildings, and 2. Does anyone know of a source of the 2000 series buildings?

To my knowledge, Proto 2000 has never been anything but a locomotive and rolling stock line. When Walthers bought Life-Like a few years back, they kept the Proto name along with these models, which were the top of the Life-Like line. The Proto 2000 series seems to be a success for Walthers. I’ve been happy with all of my Proto engines and cars.
I don’t think Cornerstone “replaced” anything.
Hey Dave,
I see that youe are averaging one (1) post a year. That must be some kind of record but I don’t what kind.
Let’s hear from you more often.
Close the door. You’re letting the cold get down here in VA
Happy Railroading

Life Like marketed the Moore and Company kit under the Proto 2000 line. It had a 2 story office section with a one story warehouse area and loading dock. Walthers killed the kit after they acquired Life Like. I don’t remember the original list price, close to $50.00 I think. You can find them on eBay, priced from reasonable to outrageous.
AFAIK there’s no connection. Walthers structure kits go back long before they bought Life-Like, who already had their own line of buildings.
+1. The “Moore and Company” kit was the only Proto 2000 kit ever made. It was made by LifeLike before walthers bought out LifeLike
