Hey guys
I have a MRC Tech 2 power pack and want to add a walkaround Is there a way to to this? I have read a long time ago about adding one to the AC terminals on the back of the pack. If there is a way, where would one be avaiable?
Thanks
Jeremy
AT ONE TIME MRC made a hand held throttle to connect to another throttle’s - was it AC terminals? It disappeared when ‘Common Rail’ wiring became prevalent.
It’s long gone.
TODAY MRC’s Top-of-the-line come’s with a hand held, and a few small companies make Transistor throttle with a hand held control; and most DCC trottles use ‘hand held’ controllers.(see Lenz as an example).
TODAY’S SOTA DESIGN’S are for hand held Wireless or IR COMMAND’S.
I use a DALLEE walk around throttle and yes…it needs to be connected to the A/C side of the pack…the only draw back is that you can’t use the DC side of the same pack for anything else because it will backfeed through the throttle and the trains won’t run right at all…what i did was use my MRC TECH 4 260 model throttles for cab A and the use the walk arounds for cab B (wiring for cab control of course)…i have the 260’s run the mains and then divert to Cab B walk around throttle for switching or anything else requiring Cab B …I have the walk around connected to a separate power pack (the old gold MRC packs that still works great) I took the speed control knobs off of them so i would’nt grab the wrong pack and they run the DALEE walk around just fine from the A/C side of the pack…Chuck
