Walmart Throttle Holders

I saw mention of these on… I believe the Digitrax forum… and while in Walmart I looked in the Sporting Goods Dept. for them. They’re called bait boxes and they have a metal clip on the backside. They make good throttle holders and cost $1.49 U.S.

The top cover pops off very easily and you can slide the metal belt clip off by tapping it lightly with a small hammer. The clip can then be screwed to your fascia board (I used two screws), and then the plastic holder can be slid back down on the clip. Very, very easy to do.

I bought 4 today and I think I’ll get a couple more for spares. The four were a little over $6, about the price of one custom made holder. I thought I’d pass this along for anyone interested in buying some. You have to look good in the department, I finally found them in a cardboard tray sitting up on a top shelf.

That’s really neat and creative!

Thanks, I know a lot of folks here are looking for ways to save a little and everyone here has always been so helpful to me when I asked for it that I’m glad to be able to pass something along someone may find useful.

Wow, that’s a great find – it certainly beats the $12.95 each or thereabouts for a throttle pocket from some of the other sources.

Local Dollar stores offer cell phone holders for cars, open front with sliding sides to accommodate different sizes. One guy I know has been selling them on eBay for $5.00, buys them by the case.

Very neat jacon12. I don’t need throttle holders but I can think of other uses for that product. Thanks for the tip. Ken
