Walther Backdrop

I am planning to add 3 panels of Walthers backdrop to my layout. I plan to use either a luan mahogany panel or foam board for the backing. They say to not use a water based glue. What is the recommended glue to use? Can i use a wallpaper glue? I would appreciate any and all advice here.
Thanks

What I have found out is if you are going to have a problem with the Walthers backdrops, it will be with bubbles forming. It may take a while. They will be very noticeable in the sky portion. I paint the board with a sky blue latex paint using a fine roller. Then I cut the sky part from the backdrop with scissors and a razor knife. I only use the forest and building part. I spray the backdrop with a 3M adhesive product and place it on the board. Another benefit is the backdrop can be any height; you can go up to the ceiling if you desire. One other thing is it eliminates most of the unsightly seams between panels.

Edit: I forgot to add that since most of the Wal-Mart cars are rag tops, I have no need for clouds.

I found that the “Tacky glue” that’s sold in the browni***an colored bottle from walmart works great…I also cut the blue sky from the backdrop scene in the backgrond …it’s really hard to match the two sky blue colors on your original backdrop and the one provided in the picture so cutting the backdrop scene from the sky works well…chuck

[#ditto] i cut the sky off my backdrops also, I applied my directly to the drywall, previously painted blue with clouds, I used 3M spray glue applied to the wall and the backdrop, waited a minute or two and slowwly applied it to the wall work from one end slowly to get it smooth. See pic’s

I also had good luck with the spray adhesive on foam boards.

I use two different products for the road material, Sometimes I use the spray glue, again applied to both surfaces and wait a minute[:-^][zzz] Then layout carefully, it’s hard to move after sticking it together, The other product I use alot is Alenes tacky glue found in fabric shops. The only draw back to it is slooooow setting, so the road has to be weighted down. I use two heavy rulers and rolls of solder as a weight.
