Hello All , I just received my new Walthers 90’ Turntable I got it installed and was testing it before I start laying track from it when it keeps stopping. I read instructions and cleaned as stated . But when I tried to re zero it the red power led just keeps flashing . I have unplugged power and restarted it but still keeps flashing . Any thoughts ?
I know the LED flashes when it first power up, and also when it detects another indexing point too close to where you are trying to add a new one.
Did you remove the clear plastic covers from the optic eye and the blue tape from inside the bridge axle?
Did you press both buttons and hold them depressed while you plugged in the power source for the first time? Did you then press the zero button and wait until the power light flashes?
If the unit still flashes, I would guess that it is one of three things:
a. it is confused. Unplug it and leave it unplugged over night. In the morning, depress both buttons and plug in afterwards, waiting for the lights to stop flashing to indicate it is ready. Then, reprogram, and hopefully it will be okay;
b. you have attempted to index two positions that are too close together; or
c. the unit needs a new chip or resoldering someplace.
When I first installed mine it ran poorly. I cleaned the electrical conections in the pit and on the bridge with electrical contact cleaner and a mirofiber cloth. I have never had a problem since.
Thanks Guys for your replies . Selector I did all you said just like the instructions say . I have not tried to add a new stop yet . I did not make it that far . I did last night unplug it but I have not checked on it yet . Will be doing that right after this post .
Scole100 I did try to clean the contacts but I do not have the CRC cleaner they recomend . I use a little Goof off and dried it good before replacing the bridge .
Jerry at Walthers called me today and after going through everything he could think of , he is sending me a new control circuit board . I am impressed with Walthers service and speed of the help. [:D]
