Walther's catalog and my wife

well it’s getting to be christmas time again and walther’s sent me their sales circular …I wasn’t planning on ordering anything this time because i’m right in the middle of building an ho scale model of a huge refinery that’s going to take months to build…but… I just got off the phone with my wife and she kept asking me stuff like…what kind or rail cars do you like?..what kind of miniature figures do you like?..do you have a road crossing gate?..do you need city lights…I think she got hold of the circular…guess what i’m gonna get from santa this christmas?..[;)] chuck

I had to sign for my IHC passenger trian from my mother the other day.[:)][:)][:)]Now I have to wait till Christmas to open it.[:(][:(][:(]

good things come to those who wait…[:D]…chuck

i picked out at the LHS- an Atlas FP7 locomotive and the 2006 BNSF color calender which will be 2 of my Christmas presents.

Awesome!!! I haven’t gotten the circular yet, and if I do, I don’t think i’ll buy. (I don’t think i’m getting it, I doubt walthers got hold of my new address. However, i’ve got to get a huge set of unpainted figures for my RDC, and lots of fancy lights for my MBTA stations parking lot. (and when I say fancy, I mean fancy, and expensive…I really don’t want to pay $10 each!)

I wish I had people that would do that for me.

I leave those things all over the house with what I want circled. And at best I get socks with a trains on them.

I have links on my web site for things I would like for Christmas. That way, the family can pick and choose who gets to buy what for the Old Guy. I have a variety of items in various price ranges so it’s easy for people to spend as much or as little as they want.

Hint: always make it easy for people to spend money on trains! [:D] [:D] [:D]

I get the Walthers Circular every month, and I always enjoy looking through it and dreaming. I probably only actually buy something once or twice a year. This months catalog actually intrigued me though, As they have Ortner Hoppers on sale. Decisisions…

Rigth on Chuck. [:D] Sounds like you gotta great woman there. Better get her somethign shiney and sparkly and keep her happy. My Fiancee who is somewhat eveil[}:)] put some boxes out under the tree allready… and I KNOW they are train boxes in there. ARGH! The torture. I was standing in the hallway looking at the tree with my son who is 5 trying to dare him to look at it and pick it up and check for me. Both of us were scared that “Santa” might find out. so we just stood there and guessed. Ah the fun of Christmas

My wife realizes that if she buys me anything for the layout she is likely to get it wrong (based on my reactions to what my sister has given me from time to time – not to mention that she keeps forgetting that she has already GIVEN me an Old Dutch Cleanser reefer for Christmas and I do not need any more) but she, wy wife that is, correctly has judged that you can hardly go wrong with scale figures.

how do you get a copy of this monthly sales circular. Is the same as the internet newsletter? If not, how do I sign up for this. I couldn’t find it on the web site. Thanks.

Jeff

I started getting the monthly sales circular after I placed an order with them.

yes, place an order and suddenly your on their list. I order at least once a month, small stuff mostly. they send me their circulars regularly, plus you usually get one in the box with your order, No good LHS around so I have to order from every source I can.

Decisions, decisions. Do I pay car off early or buy the model of the Edmund Fitzgerald? Guess car will not be getting payed off as soon as I would like.
