Hi All-

I’m modeling an ash-hauling operation on my layout and wanted to use these hoppers as part of this operation. My layout is set in 1974 and wanted to make sure these cars fit my time period. My only problem is I can’t find high enough resolution photos or get my hands on them to check build/shop dates. I was hoping someone out there might have them and could supply me iwth some data. I dont’ want to buy these only to end up having soemthing that doesn’t fit my era. Any help would be appreciated.

The only thing i can tell you about the General American 4180 cubic foot Airslide design is Burlington Northern and its predecessors recieved units in 1966 (CB&Q), 1969 (GN), 1971, 1975 and 1976.

What data do you need especially?

Thanks for the quick reply. Basically, I’m just trying to buy a RTR version of the car in the right paint scheme etc. for my layout that is set in 1974. I can see a 84 shop date on one that is obviously not going to be found on a '74 era layout.
