Walthers HO scale Meadowhead barn kit
Does anyone know how to detail an inside of a barn like this w/ hay bales, and how can someone veiwing the layout see inside eaisly? I am currently thinking of a simple project and this looks like a worthy canidate. Superdetailing I can do myself.
How do the dimensions of this barn compare with those of ones typically in use on small farms in the mid-twentieth century? (Several earlier HO models are much smaller than the average and are perhaps best suited for background use.)
The typical “barn roof” on this model is technically a “gambrel” roof, which seems to have lasted much longer in the Northeast than the mansard roof (with a shallower slope above a steeper one on each side) traditionally used on silos attached to barns, At least in the Northeast U.S. it seems that a considerable majority of silos have had half-spherical shapes in recent decades.
