Do the cars have interiors per the Superliners? The product info currently available doesn’t mention it. I’m planning a consist of Superliners with a back end of a 68-seat step-down chair car (#932-9760) and a Great Dome (Amtrak or another road name.) Would be nice to have some interior details in the step-down car to show some people activity. Thanks for any comments!
Yes they will have interiors.
Hopefully these new units will be built in similar manner as previous high level cars so that they can be disassembled, without too much difficulty, if modelers decide to paint the interiors. [;)]
They shouldn’t be too hard. No more difficult then the Superliners, which can be a little tricky to get into but not impossible. At least that’d be my guess. Walthers will be selling interior light kits for the Hi-Levels. So you’ll have to get inside them somehow to add the lighting kits.
I plan on painting my Hi-Level interiors. Already got a great Turquoise color paint at the craft store. Still looking for a good Coral colored paint for the dining car seats.
I’d think any of the large craft chains (Michael’s, Hobby Lobby, etc.) would have several brands of water-based acrylics. Many aren’t made with finely-ground pigments and don’t cover well. Gotta be careful about that. Turquoise & Coral…I’m thinkin’ '55 Chevy or Edsel or…should look great.
Thanks to all who’ve replied to my OP. Walthers made such a copy-point about full interiors in the initial Superliners, that I thought the omission about El Capitan interiors was curious.
Has anyone bought Rapido pax cars? They appear to be terrific models. Opinions? On a different topic, I recently bought some Jordan Miniatures vehicles (having had some 30+ years ago) and I’m amazed at the fineness of the railings, the spoked wheels. They must have very precise control of the molds and machines. Impressive!
