I noticed that the Walthers Proto N-scale GP60 is due out at the end of the month and was wondering if anyone knew where I could find production photos online. The Walthers site only has pre-production drawings (they look like they were done in Microsoft Paint!)
Also would be curious if MR has plans to review this product in the coming months. I did a search and didn’t find anything in the MR online product review archives.
Here’s all I’ve found so far (click links for larger pre-production drawings):

Interesting, though the website says “Expected 28-Mar-2012”, Walthers customer service had this to say today:
Photo’s will be added to the site around the time the product is delivered in July. - Amy
So I guess I look forward to a review in the July issue of MR.
As an update, this item was delivered on Friday. The Walthers website has updated photos. Also, after my inital post I recieved the N&Z scale reference book featuring these models on the cover.
Anyone know the appropriate drop-in Digitrax decoder for it? The Walthers GP20 takes a http://www.digitrax.com/products/mobile-decoders/dn163l0a/
UPDATE: From the Digitrax Facebook page “Walthers advised before it was produced that the decoder for the GP20 would also fit the GP60. That is all we can advise at this time.”
Interestingly, the prototype NS GP60 7138 was involved in an accident in Lincoln, AL in January of 2006 according to this photo taken later that year:

Luckily there were no serious injuries even though the train was traveling at around 45mph around the time of impact. NTSB report summary here: http://www.ntsb.gov/investigations/fulltext/RAB0703.html
